On Friday 17 May 2024, The Highland Institute hosted two eminent scholars in the field of oral literature. Dr Senganglu Thaimei, Associate Professor of English at Miranda House, Delhi University, an expert in the study of proverbs or paremiology, spoke about “Proverbs in Contemporary Idioms of Stand-up Comedy”.
Dr William Westerman, current Fulbright- Nehru Scholar at the Department of Cultural and Creative Studies at North-Eastern Hill University in Shillong addressed the audience on “From Folkloristics to Cultural Work”.
