The Highland Institute (THI) is observing World Environment Day on 5th June on the theme, ‘Think Before You Throw.’ During the day, students will take part in environmental-based painting and quiz competitions to raise awareness about green issues and promote sustainable actions. The event also aims to encourage recycling activities that can be practiced daily.
World Environment Day is a day set aside by the UN to raise awareness of environmental protection issues and encourage environmental protection efforts. This year the theme is #BeatPlasticPollution.
Rokobikho Savino (Roko), the resource person for the THI event, is a farmer and green entrepreneur. Increasing concern about waste management led him to develop the award-winning Green Bran product, used for septic tank treatment, odour removal, and conversion of biodegradable wastes into organic manure.
During the THI event on 5th June, he will advise participants on the importance of protecting the planet and how they can contribute.
To mark World Environment Day, Highland Institute staff made a video encouraging people to ‘Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle‘.
