Ketoukhrieü (Ph.D.) is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Kohima College, Kohima under Nagaland University, Nagaland.    She has obtained Ph.D in Political Science on the topic, “Society and Politics in the Borderlands: A Case Study of a Konyak Naga Village Located at the Indo-Myanmar Borderland” from Gauhati University Assam in 2015.

Her academic and research interests include borderland and border communities in South Asia, identity politics in Northeast India, peace and conflict resolution, and human rights, particularly of marginal groups such as women, indigenous communities, minorities, and persons with disabilities.

She was awarded University Grants Commission–Junior Research Fellowship (2010-2012) and

Zubaan-Sasakawa Peace Foundation Grant for Young Researchers from Northeast India-III (2020-2021).

She has conducted 2 Minor Research Projects:

  1. A Study On The Borderland Communities Along The Indo-Myanmar Border With Special Reference To The Khiamniungan Nagas funded by Centre For South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, Gopinath Bordoloi Nagar, Guwahati, Assam-781 014 (2019-2020).
  2. Mainstreaming the Lived Experiences of Persons with Disabilities in Nagaland: A Gender Perspective funded by Zubaan-Sasakawa Peace Foundation Grant for Young Researchers from Northeast India-III (2020-2021).

Current Research Project:  ICSSR-funded Major Research Project titled “Living at the Periphery: Territory, Culture, and Identity of the Tikhir Nagas, a Scheduled Tribe in Nagaland near the Indo-Myanmar Border” -2023-2025.
